One kitchen – many users

In the research project ‘The multi-functional kitchen – a study of and experiments with special user-needs’ we examined how users with different disabilities function in the kitchen. The main idea was to create a kitchen, which works well for both users with disabilities and other residents of the house.

A development experiment was included in the project and gave concrete suggestions to how kitchen furniture can be designed for as many people as possible. The kitchen unites user-friendliness with high technology and aesthetic qualities. The project showed that users with disabilities as a focal point can create advantages for everyone.
