Furniture design
Bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms and long-distance flights
DESIGN CONCERN has experience in a wide range of furniture models such as beds, kitchen furniture, flight seats and chairs. Through participation in the research-based i-SIT project we have built a special knowledge about how you should develop sitting- and resting furniture, which is both functional and aesthetic. All with the users in the centre.
Alipe - Bamboo Sleeping®
Bamboo Sleeping ® is an innovative bed-concept, designed by DESIGN CONCERN. Bamboo Sleeping ® is made in sustainable bamboo. Bamboo is durable, easy fashionable, has an exquisite structure and is the world’s most sustainable wood species. The plant grows 120 cm (47 inches) a day (without artificial help), produces 35 per cent more oxygen than trees and absorbs much more CO2 than traditional timber.
Alipe’s customers are conscious and not willing to compromise, both environmentally and in the wish for a good night’s sleep.
Magnus Olesen – holistic resting chair
The chair is developed on the background of a thorough research and takes a large target group into account. Our starting point has been the needs of the 50+ group where the potential market is huge. Many want a good resting chair, but hate retirement chairs. The new chair is efficient, design iconic and changeable material-wise, so it can attract younger furniture customers.
Airbus – flight seats
The challenge on a long-distance flight is to load the plane with so many passengers as possible without compromising the comfort. ‘Future Seating’ was assigned to analyse these essential challenges for Airbus in a panel of experts. Manager Lone Storgaard from DESIGN CONCERN was one of the experts.
